Steve Jobs is presenting a revolutionary product — Apple iCar. He just declared the product in a fully packed auditorium in Bangalore with more than 100 thousand gadget lovers. Its a awesome product, and people are getting crazy for getting the first look.

Honda, Toyota, GM and Ford need not worry. Apple has come to the Automobile market with Car Internet System (I wouldn’t call it a Car Music System; though it looks like that). It has internet connection on the go like Radio Service, and now you can choose which music to play via Web. Just visit iTunes and listen to the song you like. You have multi-touch screen to play video, a web cam, 250 GB memory to store files, facility to do a slideshow of the pictures, and many more.

The concept started in late 2010, but Apple wanted to do more with iCar than be just iPod on the Car. so it took Apple  more than a year to make it happen. The commercial launch will happen by mid of this year.

Steve has come down to Bangalore to declare the product, and this happened for the first time that Apple made announcement outside the United States. Steve says, he is making a Global launch of its product at once, and he choose India to cater the powerful Asian market.

If you don’t know, Steve has strong affinity towards India and Hinduism as during his early days of entrepreneurship he use to visit Ram Krishna Temple often. He does Yoga for 2 hours every day in the morning these days. He says, “Yoga has given me a new life. I think, I can bring more 5 i’s in the market before I retire. I feel much young now.” He revealed that has not taken any medicine any illness for last one year. Thanks to Yoga.

Back to iCar. We are lucky to get the first look. You will be surprised to know the features. Well, here are few in the picture.

What You Need to Know?

Get a iCar now, but make sure that you choose friends with similar choice as yours while going for a drive. iCar has lots of features but it allows only one function to run at a time. Steve Jobs claims it was intentional as people can do only one thing while driving a Car.

But I feel, Apple did it to lower the cost. I would have loved to see iCar allowing me to play music while watching the pictures.

Anyway, it is priced just $299, and for this price I can hardly complain.

Apple is now a truly common man company.

Who Need to Worry?

Car Radio and Car Music System players needs to worry now. But more than them its the Radio stations who need to worry more. People hardly listen to Radio at home now, and when Apple has given internet connection in the Car I doubt if anyone will listen to Radio while driving too.

Apple’s Challenges

Apple need to get approval from the government for making video available in iCar. If it gets it, Apple is going to rule the music industry. Probably the competitors need to do something fast to counter the challenge.

Apple is going places. It replaced our Walkman and MP3 Players first, then it replaced our Mobile Phones. It will certainly replace the Car Music System too. I am excited.
