The coming September is going to be very interesting one, with Microsoft Zune HD coming and Apple’s traditional Keynote event on September. So what is in the store for people? This might be old but yes, Microsoft is bringing Zune HD in the market, which promises to bring high definition content. Here I found 5 reasons why Zune HD is going to give a heavy competition to Apple’s iPod.
1. The name says it all: The Microsoft Zune HD will offer access to high - definition content. Microsoft
says that’s “better-than-DVD-quality video.”
2. It has a touch-screen: Even iPod has touch and is the pioneer of touch-screen music players. So this puts Zune HD’s chances ups.
3. The price is right: Zune is cheaper than iPOD. The Microsoft Zune HD starts at $219.99 for the 16-GB model while Apple’s iPod touch starts at $229 for the 8-GB model.
4. Microsoft Zune HD packs a processing punch: The Zune HD will be powered by Nvidia’s low-power Tegra System-on-Chip.
5. It’s more than just music and HD video: Yes, the Microsoft Zune HD can hold up to five hours of high-definition video, 22 hours of standard-definition video, 4,000 songs or 25,000 pictures in the 16-GB model and 10 hours of high-def video, or 48 hours of standard-definition video, 8,000 songs or 25,000 pictures in the 32-GB model, but the compact device packs in a host of other features as well. The Microsoft Zune HD also ties in an HD Radio receiver, built-in Wi-Fi and a Web browser.

So are you for it? I think that the comparison above is based upon the present iPOD model, we do not know what is there in the store for us in coming September. Apple is rumored to have enhanced the present iPOD and its in their culture to make their product absolute so its a tough call to bring out the argument right now. But its certain that Zune is going to target some form of market share this time, beside its failure in the past.
No matter what others say, you all are the consumers so, what do you think? Is it really a competition?

It’s a lot of features, but then its from Microsoft. I wouldn’t want my music player to hang and be complicated.
And iPod is an iPod.
I have never had any problems with Microsoft, although i would prefere Apple, i can’t afford it. I really liked the Zune, the small nano like one i got years ago. But do want a touch screen, so this seems like the shit right now

I have just purchased a Zune HD 32 GB. Some of the features sucg as APPS are not available in Canada. I would be willing to sell it for $175 US. It even comes with a two year warranty that is transferable to US citizens.
