Google is in a party mood today. And why not it is celebrating its 11th B’Day. Google search portal has completed its 11 years of service today and is rejoicing it with their modified logo replacing ‘L’ with ‘ 11’ that all of you must have noticed.
But what seems little amusing or you may say interesting is the clash over the actual B’day date. According to the corporate history of Google, Google domain was registered on 15 Sep, 1997 while the company filed papers on 4th Sep,1998 and finally celebrates its b’day on either 7th or 27th of Sep.
Even those within the organization also baffled, remarked “Google opened its doors in September 1998. The exact date when we celebrate our birthday has moved around over the years, depending on when people feel like having cake.”
Since in recent years, Google has taken to changing its logo on September 27th, it means the “official” date has finally reached a consensus .
Failing to recall where, but I read somewhere, “In the ocean on internet, Google is the speed boat when you wish to go fast, the luxurious ship when you wish to relax but work or play and your fishing net when you are hungry. “ and truly google has been one of the best search engines so far for majority of its users.
