I was doing a case study on Top 3 Internet Companies in India — Indiatimes.com, Rediff.com and In.com. Forget about the results, I got bugged down by the error in MS Excel 2007. The graph I get are not drawn properly.
I am a huge fan of Microsoft, and MS Office and Excel. This article is just to bring the bugs to MS Team and not to defame the company. Would like to see the correction soon.
This is what I found. (In both the graphs, the smaller number is coming at the top.)

If anyone wants to look at the Excel File, I have a copy with me. Please contact me directly.
I might be wrong here, and there might be something I am not aware of. Would love to know from anyone who can point me the error.

I have experienced a similar problem with Excel. Wasn’t sure if it was a bug at their end. If you click on the second graph “Stacked line with markers”, the problem is resolved.
Have sent the link to @Office. Lets see what MS Office Team has to say!
I would not like to see such error in Excel at least. Thankfully, I noticed the bug; else would have ended up saying In.com is the No 1 Internet Company in India

Shoot me the file, I’ll take a look.
You are creating a stacked chart when you actually don’t seem to want a stacked line chart according to your data. The number is on top because that is the series they have chosen to have on top. Stack charts aggregate all the data in series order. Use a basic line chart.
Hey Shree, Thanks for the help. Got the point now.
You seem to represent Microsoft. Sorry to have posted this piece. But am happy to know the error from my side.
Best Wishes,
